locked chest
usually my lockpick Retention is only 10%, in any other areas i've been in
but.. I went thru kilroy stonekins punchout and opened a locked chest inside there gave me a 40% retention rate why is that? It was a locked chest, since i have no treasure hunter bonuses shouldnt they all be 10%? |

Please check the mode. Hard mode and normal mode each affect lockpick retention differently

A lockpick bonus will also be given on top of the inherent bonus to any normal chest, depending on the price of the key. This is to compensate for the money one would save in the long run when using keys rather than lockpicks in hard mode.
For example, you have a 40% retention rate (assuming rank 0 treasure hunter and lucky) for normal mode Eye of the North chests (i.e. 10% inherent + 30% bonus because EotN chests count as 600g chests). Source: Wiki |

While in the campaigns normal mode chests are called "Canthan Chest," "Istani Chest," "Krytan Chest," etc., and can be opened with either their respective keys or lockpicks, ALL Eye of the North chests are "locked chests" and require lockpicks (they have no associated keys). That said, the normal mode "locked chests" in EotN have a higher retention rate than a Hard Mode "locked chest," on par with their respective campaign counterparts that can be opened with 600g-value keys -- thus they contribute to Treasure Hunter.
